Our standard for sourcing, authorship, independence, corrections and the separation of myth from physical fact.

Scope and independence
Marble & Thunder publishes educational editorial material about architecture, geometry, stone and weather. Topic selection and conclusions belong to the editorial desk.
Commercial support does not purchase a conclusion, source omission or favourable placement. Any sponsored item must be labelled at the beginning of the page and in index cards.

Source hierarchy
We prefer archaeological services, museum collection records, heritage bodies, geological surveys, meteorological agencies, scholarly publications and clearly identified primary documents.
A tertiary summary may help locate a source but does not replace it when a material claim can be checked against the underlying record.

Authorship and expertise
Named authors must be real people who have approved their biographies. Qualifications, field experience and conflicts are checked before publication.
This prepublication edition uses an institutional desk byline and claims no named external expert. The publisher must add verified staff before presenting individual biographies.

Fact, interpretation and reconstruction
Dates may be approximate; attributions may be disputed; reconstructions may combine surviving and proposed material. We label those conditions.
Mythological associations are discussed through cultural sources. Lightning physics is discussed through scientific sources. Neither is presented as proof of the other.

Images and generative work
Site photographs carry a creator, licence and source record. Original generated editorial images are identified as visualisations and are not evidence for a real monument.
We do not use generated images to fabricate archaeological finds, restoration states or named people.

Updates and corrections
Material updates receive a date. Corrections that alter the meaning of an article receive a note explaining what changed and why.
Readers can submit a correction with the page URL, disputed passage and supporting source. The desk records assessment and outcome.
